Model on my Hands?!

How early do you think you can guess what your kid will grow up to be?!?!

Lately, every time Regan is in front of a camera she gets all *rock star* on me! And I don't mean tilting her head slightly and saying "CHEESE!", I mean she strikes poses!! And then strikes another!

Go ahead, check it out! We were about to leave to go to playgroup this morning and I asked if she wanted me to take her picture. She stood on a tote and did this...............................

Crazy, right?!

Thoughts for Today

Today is the first day in WEEKS that I have stayed home. Well, that is a half truth. I stayed home almost all day but since I forgot to go check on Miranda's critters, I took a trip to NI after supper!

I had this list of things to do today, but for the life of me, I was unable to get motivated. This is primarily because I have been on the go so much, it felt SO good to sit on my ass and do nothing! I accomplished a few things, and it is now midnight and I just finished transferring all of our papers and files into the filing cabinet I just bought. What a pain in the ass - but on the bright side, I found a few documents I've been needing! So yaay for me! LOL

In other news, SEVEN of my friends are pregnant! Holy Cow!! There has got to be something in the water around here! Normally I would hope for the blessing to pass my way, but at this time, with the house buying and moving coming up, it would make things a little harder! Regan is regularly asking for a sister. And after 4 years I am finally at a ready state where I think I am up to having a second kiddo!

Next week or the week after we will be enlisting our real estate agent to sell our house! I really pray it sells within the 4 or so months so we can smoothly move into our new house! In the past week I have noticed houses popping up throughout Jeanerette for sale and it's freaking me out! I looked a few up online and they are asking much less than we are. We may need to review our game plan prior to listing it officially! I guess we shall see!

Lastly, I have recently been reflecting on how blessed I am. I find myself thanking God for how wonderful my life is! Then in my next thought I start thinking back to all ways my life could have gone if I had chosen differently throughout my life! God has blessed me and I feel very lucky!

It is Official!

Our search is officially over!! We decided to build a home in a new subdivision in Broussard! We were able to select our lot, pick the house with the floor plan we want and I was even able to select the colors and materials (flooring, counter tops, cabinets, faucets, etc) Very overwhelming but REALLY awesome!!

Since we are getting into the subdivision early (there are only 4 houses built) we were able to get a really great price! So much so, that even though our house isn't built, it appraises for more than we are ultimately paying!! That just rocks!

Our house will be 1716 sq ft and our lot is 60x180. It's a 3 bed/2 bath! I think I am most excited about huge tub in the master and the Quartz counter tops I selected!!

We are looking at it being ready in 4-6 months! Now we just need to get our house sold.....not too soon I hope!

Here is a picture of our lot::

Regan's Dance Recital

My big girl did it! She has completed her first year in dance! She has done so well! She amazed her teachers the first few weeks. They couldn't believe she had never taken dance before. She really did pick it up rather quickly!

I was really expecting her to fuss about going each Monday, but she anticipated her classes and got upset when we couldn't attend! We made it a routine each week, going to see Mamaw and Papaw and dressing at their house. Leaving in just enough time to get there for class!

I have been pretty bothered by the cost associated with the recital......paying $125 to cover our share of the building and her costume. Only to find out that her "costume" consisted of a red sports bra. Having to still buy her stockings, shorts and shoes out of pocket! VERY aggravating! Thankfully it's about Regan. And she has loved every minute of it!

Tonight is her recital! So exciting! Papaw, Aunt Jackie and Uncle Randie will be going to see her! She is doing only the Finale and they are dancing to 'Everyone's a Star'.

Mother's Day is tomorrow!! It will be my fourth!!

To me Mother's Day is a day of appreciation! Appreciation not only for the women in my life, but to appreciate the gift of being a mother! Being a mom is amazing! It truly completes me. It is really the most important thing I think I'll ever do in my life!

I have learned a lot about myself since having my daughter! Good and bad! I think it allows us to see ourselves in a whole new light! Regan is definitely a miniature version of me! Her humor, her animated way of talking, her independence, her love for music and dancing, her fiery personality! Funny part is, some of these things get her in trouble! There is so much irony there! Heehee!! I guess at this point I can only hope that I don't screw her up in some way! LOL God willing all my hopes and dreams for her will come to light! We all want the best for our children, but I have some generational patterns I'd like to break. So I am putting a lot more pressure on myself I think.

This will be everyone's first Mother's Day without my Mamaw. It's really hard to know how to feel. It hasn't been quite 3 months since we lost her. I haven't fully accepted it. I am in the ignoring phase of it right now! Trying not to think about it and let myself feel the feeling that are swelling inside!

We are invited to go to Aunt Jessie's for a BBQ! Bub does not come in until Monday, so he will not be with us, unfortunately! But I will have my family. And the one who has blessed me with the title of Momma!

Crawfish!

Look 'dem Crawfish!

Connor, Gunner, Analiegh, Regan

Went and had crawfish with the family today! It was great! I really love the time we are able to spend together with the hectic life that we all have! The crawfish was really good and the company was even better!!

Aunt Boobie, Pam, Heather

Mother's Day is in a few days and it will be the 1st one without my Mamaw. It's gonna suck! It had been nice having her here because my mom lives in Oregon! It's nice to have a motherly figure to squeeze and appreciate!! Now, the only one I have is my Aunt Jackie - but she doesn't celebrate holidays!

Happy Birthday to ME!!

Well, yesterday I turned the big 3-0!! I feel blessed to have even made it this far! lol

I had a WONDERFUL day - start to finish! I woke to Regan in the morning! I asked her if she knew what today was and she said "your birthday!" She then gave me the sweetest kiss and a big 'ol hug!! Bub even called my in the morning to wish me a happy birthday!!

We got ready and headed to my friend Jeanne's house who threw me a little party with our playgroup! It was fun! We did a potluck, my cousin Monique made this amazing brownie cake and I got some great gifts!!

That night a few of us went to Shangri-la for Hibachi (which was SO good) and then next door to the Daiquiri place! It was a great day from start to finish!

I am looking at the upcoming year with a great outlook! I was dreading stepping out of my 20's. Dreading it with every fiber of my being. But as it approached and was finally here, I found myself looking at my life and being happy about it. While getting dressed this morning I took a long look at myself. Looking for the wrinkles or the lines or even a possible sign of aging. You know what - I LOVED what I saw.

I love being me! I have embraced who I have become in these 30 years! I am able to look back and know that I have lived life to the fullest! I've made some mistakes along the way, learned from them and moved on. I've taken full advantage of all of the steep climbs and deep valleys and easy plains of my life and realize how they played a part of my life! I am grateful that at a young 30, I am able to look at my life and smile! I am in a great place in my life! With a wonderful husband, an amazing little girl and family and friends that I am proud to say I know! I am truly blessed and just so grateful!!

So here's to life after 20's!!

Ready to Move

We've talked about it for a while and have finally made the firm decision! We are going to put our house up for sale and buy one closer to Lafayette! We are looking mainly in Broussard and Youngsville. We need to be centrally located so I can still be close to my family and not far from Lafayette. This will make most drives pretty easy!!

Plus, I have to think of the schools where ever we go and those areas are a safe bet! If we find what will work for us, dare I say forever, we can always opt for private schooling if thing turn for the worst.

I have been laying the ground work for getting pre approved. I have two companies that will be getting back with me tomorrow with the numbers. I hope to get a few things done to the house when Bub comes in on the 12th and put the house up for sale before he leaves. We are debating on doing a FSBO instead of using an agent to list. It's tricky, making these decisions. There are so many little issues we have to work out. One being that our two year mark isn't until July 1st. Which means we can put our home up for sale, but cannot "sell" it and sign papers before then.

So figuring out the best way to sell so things all fall into place is key. If we sell fast (this house wasn't even on the market a day when I found it and put in a bid), then we have to tell then they cannot have it for over a month. But, if they accept that, we are easily able to know it's sold and find a house with confidence!

I am sure there will be many more entries about this in the weeks to come! lol

BTW, I'll be 30 in 2 days!! Eeeekkkk!! (runs screaming!!!) lol
