What a Week!

This has officially got to be the wildest week ever!!!

Tuesdays my Playgroup threw me a shower! It was awesome and so much fun! My friends bought me such wonderful things and I got lots of personalized and homemade items which just rocks!!

Tuesday afternoon, I decided to get Regan a little early from school so we could be home, waiting for Bub to arrive. I then got a call saying he had gotten a flat tire, which sent him off an overpass and into a tree. That was the longest drive to New Iberia - EVER!! Thank God he was okay. Other than some bruises from the airbag and the impact he was fine! His truck however, not so much!

Since he was due for a new truck anyways, the next day we went out and found him a truck he loves! I actually love it too! It has so many bells and whistles - it's nice and he deserves a great luxury truck!

So Thursday we went back to get his truck and I must say, I love it!!

The same day we went for our 2nd 3D/4D Ultrasound of baby boy! Man he is a cutie! He kept his hands over his face the whole time, but we caught some open eyes and some yawns and a cute little face!

Things are really blessed for us these days and I am so thankful! I am 28 1/2 weeks along and feeling great! I am already ready for him to be home with us!!

Regan has 2 days left of school and I never thought I'd be so happy to have her home for the summer! We have big plans for the summer! Lots of movies and swimming and time with our friends and family!!

Life is good! We are really, really blessed!

So I guess even with some bad, there will always be some good!

No Guns or Pens in The Park!

Yesterday on the way to drop Regan off at school, she happened to notice the sign in the park. We have driven by these signs five days a week for over 9 months too......

So she says to me "No guns or pens in the park!"

Of course I am dumbfounded and confused! lol I ask her where she saw that and she said "the sign says no guns or pens in the park - I saw it!" Of course I missed the sign and have no idea why she thinks something is a pen. I asked if she was sure it was a pen. She said, " You cannot bring a gun and no pens because when you make a mistake, you cannot erase it!"

Thankfully there was another sign a little ways down, and it turns out the other symbol was a syringe. I can't remember the last time she made me laugh like that! I love the way her mind works!!

It's Going so Fast

It is getting so depressing around here these days! :o(

My little girl is trying so hard to be that big girl that can do everything for herself. For instance, in the mornings, she insists that she can and will get her own bowl down, pour her cereal and milk and even make her morning juice, complete with her vitamins and all.

I was thinking yesterday how I was like her, only probably worse at her age. At about 7 I was waking up on Saturday mornings and making myself scrambled eggs - on the stove! Thinking back I realized that Regan is almost 6 and I was doing this at an age not much older than her. This scared the SHIT out of me! lol

I have always been very independent! And I have watched Regan try her hardest to follow in my footsteps. As a mom, it is very hard to let this happen. In a way I know I should be encouraging these changes, but I don't wanna! *insert pout here.....

With the baby coming, everything she can do for herself will be an immense help to me. But at the same time, growing up as quickly as I did wasn't always fun. I mean, once you are old enough to do everything for yourself, you are no longer able to ask for help when you want the coddling from your parents. It really is hard!

In the last few months Regan has really astounded me with her maturity and her sense of her surroundings. She is so aware of what time is it, what needs to happen, what is not okay and schedules! She really is a big girl and it saddens me to the core!

I know she will be so helpful when I need an extra hand next year, but I am hoping that she won't have to worry about me or the baby. That she helps when she wants to and enjoys the hell out of her childhood!!

Update

It appears this blog has been pushed to the wayside since I spend more of my effort writing in my other blog......so I feel bad!

Here is an update to the craziness in our life! lol

Joy & Wes moved in across the street a few months ago! It is nice being able to walk across the street and visit or go across the street for a BBQ!

We are still in the process of selling the rent house, though we've had a few issues along the way! Just yesterday I found out they pushed the closing date another week! It's really getting annoying! The cool part is that Aunt Boobie is part of our closing, so that's been nice!!

I can't wait until this house is gone and we have $800 a month just to put in savings or to just do whatever with! My thinking is Bub will eventually need a new work truck, since he's decided not to use the chop top once it's finished! So the hot rod will stay here and we can get Bub something new!

There is only 25 days left of school!! Then it's swim lessons and we will probably spend the rest of the summer with our friends or soaking at Red's! lol

I will be turning 32 in a few weeks!! Yikes! But I am very excited about my birthday plans........so it's worth it! lol

Other than that things are as they should be! Life is good and things are going well!!!

Houston & Cookies

Lots going on over here, making it hard to blog daily, or even weekly! Nothing overly exciting, just lots to do and lots of places to be and we snuck out of town for the weekend to Houston to visit friends and check out the local Zoo and Aquarium. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Suites in Sugarland and I am officially spoiled and don't want to stay at any other hotel anywhere! lol Regan loved the indoor pool and I loved the fact that it was practically a mini apartment, with a separate bedroom. The bed was so comfortable and the hotel was just amazing!! :o)

The best part was of course seeing our friends, even though it was only for one evening. The Houston Zoo and Aquarium left a lot to be desired, especially for the size of the community - we expected amazing. We are glad we went - they were both on our to do list. But I doubt we we revisit those attractions if we make a trip back that way!

Regan doesn't much care for road trips these days! Even a mere 4 hour trip, with a stop for food midway seems like an eternity for our little lady. We are possibly planning a trip to Petersburg in the summer if I am feeling well and if they don't make it down this Spring. But I am wary of how miserable Regan might be, additionally drive us crazy the whole time! lol

m

It is officially Girl Scout Cookie Time. The cookies actually came in the Thursday before we left for Houston, so it was a mad dash to sort and distribute before we left. Luckily our neighbors and one of the girl's moms came to help. And even then it took us an hour and a half to sort the 94 cases! My troop is doing really well and I think the majority of them will be meeting their goal! I think Regan is really enjoying her Troop time and will continue to get a lot out of it. ..........as long as we make it through cookies season every year that is! lol
