Houston & Cookies

Lots going on over here, making it hard to blog daily, or even weekly! Nothing overly exciting, just lots to do and lots of places to be and we snuck out of town for the weekend to Houston to visit friends and check out the local Zoo and Aquarium. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Suites in Sugarland and I am officially spoiled and don't want to stay at any other hotel anywhere! lol Regan loved the indoor pool and I loved the fact that it was practically a mini apartment, with a separate bedroom. The bed was so comfortable and the hotel was just amazing!! :o)

The best part was of course seeing our friends, even though it was only for one evening. The Houston Zoo and Aquarium left a lot to be desired, especially for the size of the community - we expected amazing. We are glad we went - they were both on our to do list. But I doubt we we revisit those attractions if we make a trip back that way!

Regan doesn't much care for road trips these days! Even a mere 4 hour trip, with a stop for food midway seems like an eternity for our little lady. We are possibly planning a trip to Petersburg in the summer if I am feeling well and if they don't make it down this Spring. But I am wary of how miserable Regan might be, additionally drive us crazy the whole time! lol

It is officially Girl Scout Cookie Time. The cookies actually came in the Thursday before we left for Houston, so it was a mad dash to sort and distribute before we left. Luckily our neighbors and one of the girl's moms came to help. And even then it took us an hour and a half to sort the 94 cases! My troop is doing really well and I think the majority of them will be meeting their goal! I think Regan is really enjoying her Troop time and will continue to get a lot out of it. ..........as long as we make it through cookies season every year that is! lol

Hi there -- I'm a fellow blogger and am also a docent at the Houston Zoo. You took a lot of really great pictures there. The one of the prairie dog is fabulous! There's a reason to come back, if you weren't aware... we're in the midst of developing 61/2 of what will eventually be 13 acres African Forest. I look forward most to the new giraffe area where folks can hand feed our family of 9 and will also be able to view them at their eye level!

I have an animal blog with cute pictures that your little girl might like. Post on it most every day so stop by if you like. :-)

Hey Rochelle, thanks for checking out my blog! We saw the additions to come - we are very excited about that! We wanted to love the Houston Zoo! I will say watching the lion feedings (which I got video of) and the children's area were great. We always compare zoos to the Portland Zoo......so it's hard!

I looked at your blog and have added it to my list. We LOVE animals!!
