Regan's Do!

Last night Regan decided to put her hair up before she went to bed. Bub came out and asked me if I had done Regan's hair and I said yeah, assuming he meant the bun she wore all day. Turns out she put her bangs up all on her own! LOL

I couldn't resist taking a few pictures of how she wanted to wear her hair to sleep! It was SO cute!!





This morning we started packing and at lunch time Bub asked Regan if she wanted to ride to Lil's to get our food. He then told her she had to take her hair out if she was leaving the house with him!





I am not sure which was funnier? The ponytail or what it looked like after she took it out! LMAO!! She is hilarious!!

Renting Again - Blech!

Well, as many know, we are having to rent for 3 months while we wait for our house to be finished.

Our landlord actually was in the progress of purchasing this place when we looked into renting it! It is a cute little Acadian style house. And we even lucked out with getting a back yard for Samara! Bub just has to put boards down to keep her from escaping under the house!

Our impression of our landlord is not the best though! I scheduled a time to meet her on the 31st, to give her our rent check and to get the keys from her. Rent is technically not late until the 6th, but since we were meeting with her, I figured it would just be easier. I asked her not to cash it until the first, which is when Bub got paid. Well, she cashed it on the 31st and over drafted our account. Costing us $105 in fees. I immediately called her telling her I asked her not to, why did she do it when she said it was fine. (keep in mind, I was paying early anyways!) All she could say was she was sorry! Oh and she didn't believe me. She said she'd have to talk to her assistant to see if she really did cash the check! I am less than impressed as of yet! If I didn't need to be in this place, we would definitely get our money back and tell her to kiss off!!

Anyways, at least the little 2 bedroom house is cute. I guess if we have to rent, even for a little while, we can do it in style! lol The house is on a private little road with 5 other acadian style houses. Oh and it's on Holmes Street. I seriously cannot saying it without using my "vato" voice! LOL

So here it is. Our humble abode for the next 3 (hopefully less) months.

A Busy Few Days.....To Say The Least!!

I am happy to report that the inspection went really well! Though there are about $3000 of little issues, the sellers have not asked for anything to be fixed or any money to be deducted! I am SO pleased!!

Wednesday we had the appraisal. We still have yet to find out if we are appraising at what we are asking for. Supposedly when we got the appraisal when we bought this house, she considered the breezeway as part of the square footage and supposedly that is wrong. There is a vent for the heating and cooling in the breezeway, so it IS supposed to be considered in the square footage as far as I've always been told. We should have known something before now, but their agent is a tool and is taking his sweet ass time accomplishing anything! I think he is almost on my shit list at this point! The stress I've been carrying over all of these is being prolonged only because of this man's incompetence!

Thursday my playgroup delivered the items for our canned food drive!! It was a success! We delivered 393 pounds of food and stayed to add our donated items onto the line to be immediately added to the food boxes!!




That evening we picked up Regan early from school and headed back into Lafayette to go eat supper before heading to the Circus. Before we reached our destination I was rear-ended! (silent cry!) I haven't found anything out, as I have to wait about 3 days to get the police report!



My poor truck! The guy was driving a jeep that had a bumper for one of those wenches. The square part the wench attaches to is what punctured my bumper!


The circus, however, was a BLAST! It is the first time I can recall going to the Barnum & Bailey Ringling Brother's Circus. The 3 of us really enjoyed ourselves! The clowns and this "french" bike rider were hilarious! And Regan loved the ladies on the ropes!! She even got to wear a circus vest and take a picture with one of the performers!






Friday night Bub and I went on our first REAL date since Regan was born! We went to Shangri La for Hibachi, which was amazing as always! Then we did some furniture shopping and then headed to the mall! Yeah daring I know! lol But neither of us was really in a partying mood. We had some quiet time together and it was nice! My Aunt Jackie came over to watch Regan and they seemed to have a great time!!

Oh where to start!?

Well, for starters we found a place to rent for the 3-ish months while we wait for our house to be build. It is an Acadian looking house in Abbeville. Pretty cute actually and even has a fenced in yard for Samara! Lucky break, really! The downfall, is I will be paying our mortgage and our 1st month's rent for August! Blech!

Second, we did some shopping! We finally decided on a sofa and a dining set! We also bought a new fridge! You know, it's harder to spend money than you think!! lol Especially when you have to call your bank and tell them to allow your purchase! lol




I am in LOVE with the furniture we've chosen so far!! All we need to do now is select our bedroom set and buy the new TVs.

BTW, our salesman....we'll call him Byron (lol).....REALLY cool cat!! I can definitely see hanging out with him in the future! Regan really liked him too!

Today we did the pre drywall walk through with our builder! It was definitely more fun than it sounds!! I also got an estimated date of completion.....and we are looking at being in by mid to late October! I am going to just assume we'll be in by November 1st, since the weather here and hurricane season is really not the time to be building!! I didn't take any pictures today, but we have a front door, some windows and partial bathrooms! Once the drywall goes up it will definitely take shape and probably go pretty quick if weather doesn't play a part!

Also today was the inspection done on our house by the buyers! Can I just say I feel violated! Coming home and knowing someone was going through every inch of your house just leaves me unsettled! Not to mention they left the gate open and Samara got out. And everything he touched today, he was rude enough NOT to put back! I am not pleased right now! I also was expecting a phone call early evening since the inspection was at 1 pm. So I am a little annoyed about that.

Bub and I always seems to buy from and sell to those people that pull out all these tricks and screw us over! When we sold in Oregon, that lady really screwed us out of money! When we bought this house, the buyers put random pictures on the walls to cover the holes and bought and left rugs to cover all the stains and bleach marks! Sneaky! We are so not that way, but I have no doubt these buyers will try to screw us over somehow! Ugh!

I was telling Bub that I am glad we are not having to deal with a buyer and a seller.

Well, there are lots of other things going on at the moment, but I will save that for another day! Just thinking about it all makes me exhausted! LOL

Damn Dolly!

OMG I am so overwhelmed right now I cannot even stand it!! Waiting for the inspection and appraisal is killing me because of course the more money we make the easier things will be!! And what I am more hoping for is that even after getting into the new house, getting new furniture, TVs and a fridge, we will still have a ton left to keep in savings!! Though it isn't a necessity, it will certainly make me happy!

Next, I am trying to find us a place to stay for the 3-4 months while we wait for the house in Cypress Crossing to be completed. This sounds SO much easier than it actually is. Especially when you have 2 cats and a dog! I think I have found us a place, not exactly cheap, but will rent for short term AND will accept my critters! The next stress with this is contained in the next paragraph.......

Bub was due home on Monday, as usual. 14 days out, 14 days in. Well, there's a certain storm turned hurricane......we'll call her Dolly. Tetra decided to keep the crew out to complete their task instead of hauling the new crew in for what might be a few days. This is all fine and dandy, except Bub is missing time with us. And they will not tell him when he can expect to come home. We have contracts to sign and lots of errands to run! Oh, and I have a dance class tomorrow night for which I have no sitter because my husband was supposed to be home and I didn't secure one!!

Ugh the stress!! I don't think a handful of masseuses could get these knots out of my neck!!!

SOLD!!!

It's true!! We got an offer yesterday afternoon!! Full asking price, we pay closing costs! Cool!!

As excited as I am, it's so bittersweet! I really had hoped we might be able to squeeze our way into staying in this house as long as possible! But, the buyers are interested in getting in ASAP!! So now I have to figure out a place we can rent short term. I also have to hope the appraisal and inspection go well! At present I know what our profit will be, and would LOVE it to stay as close to that number as possible! LOL But, as we said in the beginning, if we get out without being out any money, and in time for the new house, we wouldn't complain!! So.......I will try not to! LMAO!!



So, now comes the rest of the roller coaster!! Stay tuned!!

So freaking cool! And it looks so much bigger in person than I thought it would! The pictures don't even do it justice!! I am really excited to see it take shape!!!
